What we need from YOU

Ideas - your ideas are vital to this project. Tell us what you like and dislike about other playgrounds. Tell us what you want for your children and we will endeavour to include it in the new Play Area. Don't miss out - have your say

Feedback - look at the plans, look at the suggestions, chat with each other and tell us what you think

Your muscles - Mums and Dads, we will undoubtedly have some voluntary work to do. We may need a new fence, we may have trees to plant, holes to be dug and earth to be shifted. Your muscles, a couple of wheelbarrows, lots of spades and plenty of tea, sandwiches and cakes will go along way to achieving this

Funds - if we can develop a play area that you can walk to, that you are proud of, and that keeps your kids entertained then surely that has got to be worth something. Think of the enjoyment they will get, think of the savings on fuel you will make by not having to drive to Embleton / Cockermouth / Penrith. Businesses and charitable organisations will be more than happy to help us - if they see that we are willing to help ourselves

Talking of which - did you know that when it comes to applying for grants they will consider labour, hours worked, donations of materials etc as valued assets? Yes they will want to know how much money is in the pot, but they will also take in to consideration the value of what else we have put in to the project. Have a think and see how you can help. And then get in touch by e mail or call the numbers below.

And another thing - did you also know that unless this is a community project we are far less likely to be able to attract much needed funding from charitable bodies. To that end we need your emails, letters and feedback. We also need you take interest in the Play Area and have your say - for the sake of your children. So please, please get in touch.

And last but not least - we are having an Open Day on Thursday 30th October at the Keswick Learn to Earn Centre in the Museum adjacent to Fitz Park. Please come along.
